New Professional SIG

What is the New Professional Special Interest Group (NPSIG)?

The NPSIG is a group of recent graduates in PT and PTA professions that was established as a networking opportunity for CT APTA members. This coalition focuses on the tough issues facing new professionals, meanwhile helping to foster relationships among peers from different areas of physical therapy practice.

Objectives

  1. To provide a space for professional development

  2. To help build relationships between new professionals across CT

  3. To discuss orthopedic, neurologic, pediatric, and geriatric settings

  4. To facilitate conversation on “hard” topics pertaining to being a new PT/ PTA

What we do

  • Social and educational gatherings

  • Professional development

  • Continuing education guidance

  • Discuss new professional questions, observations, and clinical inquiries

  • Help with resumes, salary, residency, and job changes
