It is my pleasure to invite you to a very special event hosted by the APTA CT in Hartford on Wednesday, November 29th at Urban Lodge Brewing Company, located at 88 Pratt Street in Hartford. The event will run from 6 pm – 8 pm.
We will be hosting our first APTA CT Public Policy celebration in what we hope will become a regular event. 2023 was a good year for APTA CT advocacy efforts as the Chapter led the effort for Connecticut to join the Interstate PT Compact. As we look ahead, with much more on the horizon, now is the time to build on these efforts, but also to take a minute to celebrate our victories.
Award winners for the evening include the following:
- 2023 Connecticut Legislator of the Year, State Representative Cristin McCarthy-Vahey, co-chair of the CGA Public Health committee.
- Inaugural inductees into the APTA CT Advocacy Hall of Fame
- Hank Balavender
- Bill Hardy
- Joan-Alice Taylor
- Vic Vaughan
Each of this year’s honorees played a critical role in the development and success of APTA CT’s public policy efforts as well as extensive leadership in the Connecticut Chapter.
This event will also provide us the opportunity to celebrate our successes, reconnect with old friends and look forward to continuing the work with do at the State Capitol in Hartford and in the halls of Congress in Washington, DC.
Urban Lodge Brewing is a new space across the street from the former APTA CT headquarters on Pratt Street. It will serve as the perfect venue for the gathering.
Tickets are $40 except PT & PTA students are reduced to $25, and include hearty hors d’oeuvres, beer & wine. There will be a cash bar for mixed drinks. Sponsorship and program book advertising opportunities are also available.
