This educational session, delivered virtually over the Zoom platform, will consist of a PowerPoint presentation describing the foundational principals of Positive Behavioral Support and strategies to implement these principals into educational programs for children with Autism. The lecture information will be brought to life through discussion of cases that illustrate situations commonly experienced in the educational setting.
Objectives
By the end of the presentation, participants will be able to:
1. Articulate at least 3 foundational principals of Positive Behavioral Support.
2. Describe at least 3 roles of the Board-Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA) in working with children across settings.
3. Describe the collaboration between the BCBA and the physical therapist to optimize goal attainment.
4. Propose behavioral strategies that could be used in the presented case studies.
