This educational session is the first in a 2 day series on promoting grit and resilience in clinical education. Delivered virtually over the Zoom platform, Dr. Matt Calendrillo will present an overview on the topics of grit and resilience, and how stakeholders in clinical education (directors of clinical education, clinic managers, center coordinator of clinical education, and clinical instructors) may identify and promote these in their own practice and the practice of their clinical students. Further education on these topics may reduce stakeholder burn out and increase stakeholder confidence in accepting clinical students when faced with challenges from the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond.

Objectives
o Describe the concept of grit
o Identify levels of grit/resilience in their own clinical practice and in their clinical students
o Discuss how to promote grit within themselves to prevent burn out and facilitate excellence in clinical practice and education
o Discuss how to promote grit within their clinical students to prevent burn out and facilitate excellence in clinical education
