The virtual presentation is part of the Pediatric SIG's series on Autism Spectrum Disorder. This presentation will discuss the early signs of Autism in young children and ways to go about having a child evaluated for this condition including the role that Connecticut's Birth-to-Three system plays.

By the end of the presentation, the participants will be able to:
- Describe at least 3 characteristics that may indicate that young children have the diagnosis of autism.
- Identify at least two outcome measures that can be used to identify autism in young children.
- Describe the process of referring a child to medical personnel who can diagnose a child with autism.
- Describe the Birth-to-Three services that are typically provided for very young children with autism.
- Discuss at least 2 forms of intervention that have been effective in promoting the development of young children with autism.
- Explain at least 3 reasons why early identification of children with autism is important.
