Pediatric SIG: Jump into the Community

Virtual link will be sent on day of event.

Jump Into The Community- participants will listen to and participate in a panel discussion via Webinar with representatives from adapted sports facilities, adapted water sports, equine facility and learn about additional community based recreational and sport facilities.

Objectives:

1) Identify barriers/precautions for individuals with special needs and their families that limit participation in community based exercise and recreational programs.

2) Identify evidence based sensory, cognitive, orthopedic and social benefits of various activities.

3) Discuss modifications and adaptations of equipment or activities to increase participation level, inclusion and enjoyment of activities for the individual.

4) Discuss current programs available by region, state and nationally.
